One input field that does everything. Type to search across all tasks and notes. Use + to capture, * to create a note, / to navigate projects, # to filter by context. No menus, no dialogs.

What tingdo does
A GTD® task manager with everything you need and nothing you don't. Built on the Getting Things Done methodology.
Capture
Get everything out of your head, fast.
Open the Next bar, type + and a title. Hit enter. The task lands in your inbox. Project, context, and deadline can be added inline or later. Capture takes less than two seconds.
Keyboard-first on desktop
Start typing anywhere to open the search bar. Navigate results with arrow keys. Create a task and assign it to a project without touching the mouse.
Install on your phone
tingdo is a web app you can install on your home screen. It opens in its own window, works offline, and loads instantly. No app store needed. See how to install on iOS, Android, and desktop. (Native Android and iOS apps are in development.)
Organize
Put things where you'll find them when it matters.
Tags that describe where or with what you can do a task: #computer, #phone, #errands, #home. Filter your next actions by context with one tap, or type # in the search bar.
Anything that takes more than one step is a project. Convert a task into a project the moment you realize it's bigger than you thought. Projects can hold subprojects. Each level has its own next action, or it's flagged as stalled.
Read moreReference material like passwords, dimensions, or policy numbers belongs in the project it relates to, not in a separate notes app. Create a note with * in the search bar. Tasks and notes live side by side, so the information you need is right where you're working. Read more about how tasks and notes work together.
Tasks you've delegated or are waiting on someone else to complete. They have their own status and their own step in the weekly review.

A calm weekly review keeps the system honest.
Everything tingdo does supports one ritual: a calm, weekly review of your whole system. Capture, waiting-for status, someday/maybe, and stalled project signals all feed into it. The review itself is guided and step-by-step: clear your inbox, check every active project, revisit waiting-for items, look at someday/maybe. One step at a time, no skipping ahead. It's what keeps a task app from becoming a task graveyard. Learn more about the weekly review process in our guide.

Every project needs a next action. When one doesn't, tingdo flags it during the review, so nothing quietly stops moving without you noticing.
A parking lot for things you're not committed to yet. Both tasks and projects can have someday/maybe status. They stay hidden from your daily workflow and surface during the weekly review.

Know what to do right now, and do it.
Your home screen shows what you can do next, grouped by where you are and what tools you have. Tap a context like #computer or #errands to filter. This is the core of tingdo. Learn the thinking behind next actions and contexts.
Start focus mode on any task and everything else disappears: other lists, the sidebar, the noise. The timer runs in the background and records how long you worked. Your time lives in the logbook, ready to export when you need it.
Read moretingdo doesn't have its own calendar. Instead, scheduled tasks can appear in the calendar you already use: Google, Apple, Outlook, or any calendar that speaks the standard. Your week stays in one place.

tingdo works without an internet connection. Your tasks are stored locally and sync automatically when you're back online.

What tingdo deliberately leaves out
Complexity is where task managers go to die. These aren't missing features. They're the reason the system stays honest.
No priority levels
Priority emerges from context, energy, and the time you have, not from a number.
No recurring tasks
The weekly review catches what needs doing again. Recurring tasks pile up unreviewed and create guilt.
No subtasks
If a task needs subtasks, it's a project. Your lists stay flat and your system stays honest.
No notification spam
Only genuine deadlines trigger a notification. tingdo doesn't nag.
No overdue state
Tasks don't turn red. Missing a date doesn't mean you've failed. It means the date needs a second look.
