Some projects you can think all the way through in one sitting. Queue is where those later steps wait: decided, in order, and out of the way. The next action stays the one thing in front of you, and the rest of the plan is ready for when its turn comes.
Queue is decided, Someday/Maybe is not. A queue task will happen, its turn has not come yet. A Someday/Maybe item is one you haven’t committed to, and it might not happen at all.
What you get
- A place for the steps you’ve already decided on, without them crowding today.
- An ordered plan inside each project, so the shape of the work stays visible.
- A next actions list that stays short, because only what you promoted is on it.
How it works
- Every queue task belongs to a project, and you drag the steps into the order the work actually runs.
- When a step is ready, you promote it to next action yourself. Nothing moves up on its own, so what you work on next stays your decision.
- An undated queue task stays off your home screen and out of Next Actions. It waits quietly until its turn.
- The weekly review walks you through the queue, so the order still matches how the work runs.
Why it matters
- Thinking a project through is worth doing once. The queue is where that thinking is kept, instead of being rebuilt every week.
- A next actions list you trust stays short. Everything you’ve decided but can’t act on yet has somewhere else to be.
