Anything that takes more than one step is a project. Convert a task into a project the moment you realize it's bigger than you thought. Projects can hold subprojects. Each level has its own next action, or it's flagged as stalled.

The responsibilities you carry, one level above projects: work, home, health, money. An area never finishes, it is maintained, so it holds the standard you set for it and the projects that keep it there. Type :health in the next bar to open one, and a project can sit in two areas at once.

Reference material like passwords, dimensions, or policy numbers belongs in the project it relates to, not in a separate notes app. Create a note with * in the next bar. The steps of a project you've committed to but aren't working on yet. They sit in the order you put them in and stay out of your next actions until you promote one. Queue is decided and waiting. Someday is undecided and may stay that way.

Tasks you've delegated or are waiting on someone else to complete. They have their own status and their own step in the weekly review.

Everything tingdo does supports one ritual: a calm, weekly review of your whole system. Capture, waiting-for status, someday/maybe, and stalled project signals all feed into it. Every project needs a next action. When one doesn't, tingdo flags it during the review, so nothing quietly stops moving without you noticing.

tingdo doesn't have its own calendar. Instead, scheduled tasks can appear in the calendar you already use: Google, Apple, Outlook, or any calendar that speaks the standard. Your week stays in one place.

tingdo works without an internet connection. Your tasks are stored locally and sync automatically when you're back online.
